Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is hopeful that Team India will visit their neighboring nation for next year's Champions Trophy. The legendary left-arm seamer anticipates a warm reception for Rohit Sharma and his team, and he is confident that the PCB will provide excellent facilities for all the visiting teams.
India's last visit to Pakistan was in 2008, and since then, they have not traveled to the subcontinent due to strained political relations. Despite Pakistan hosting the Asia Cup last year, the matches involving India were played in Sri Lanka due to a hybrid model adopted by the ACC. It is likely that a similar arrangement will be made for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Speaking to IANS, Wasim emphasized that the PCB chairman has initiated efforts to construct new stadiums in key cities, with the aim of providing top-notch facilities for visitors.
"I hope so, that India comes to Pakistan. The whole country is looking forward to receiving all the teams. They will be given a grand welcome, and the cricket will be fantastic. The facilities are excellent, and new stadiums are being built. The Chairman has started the work on new stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad."

The 58-year-old believes that it is crucial for Pakistan to host this tournament and emphasizes the importance of keeping politics separate from the event.
"It will be a great tournament, and Pakistan needs this tournament for the betterment of cricket. And I hope that all teams tour because cricket and politics should be separate. I don't know what the system will be, but overall everything is ready. Pakistan, the whole country is looking forward to receive all the teams and the dignitaries."
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 09, 2025. This prestigious eight-team competition will feature the top seven teams from the ODI World Cup 2023, with Pakistan earning automatic qualification as the host nation.
