The body of a six-year-old girl who had gone missing from her house on Saturday in outer Delhi's Samaypur Badli area was found stuffed inside a gunny bag on Sunday morning. The police officials sent the body of the girl for post mortem and the possibility of a sexual assault has not been ruled out so far.

According to the police, a call was made by a passerby on Sunday morning around 6 am about a girl's body found stuffed in a jute bag. The body was found dumped on the roadside near Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. The body of the girl was sent to the hospital and preserved for post mortem. Her parents were called in at the hospital to identify the body who then confirmed it was their child.

As per officers, the girl's body did not have any visible injury marks. The autopsy report of the girl is awaited to confirm the cause of death.

As per the family of the girl on she was last seen on Saturday evening. The girl was playing with some of her friends in the area after which she went missing. Her parents, along with locals and neighbours, searched for her but failed to find her anywhere. They then approached the police and filed a missing complaint. The father of the girl was neither threatened nor did he receive any ransom call after she was reported missing.

"The crime team inspected the location. No visible injury marks were seen on the body. The girl was first kidnapped and murdered before dumping the body on the road," said a senior police official.

Investigating officials stated that a case of murder and kidnapped has been registered at Samaypur Badli police station. The case is being probed from all angles including that of personal enmity with someone or a dispute in the family.

Footage's of the CCTV cameras are being scanned. Some suspects have been rounded up for questioning at the police station.
