Because of his dire financial situation, Raghav had a challenging upbringing. Despite the challenges he faced, Raghav remained determined and unwavering in his pursuit of his goal. Through perseverance and hard work, Veer Pratap Singh Raghav received an AIR 92 in the UPSC exams.

Born in the Uttar Pradesh village of Dalpatpur, Veer Pratap Singh Raghav created history by placing 92nd on his third attempt at the UPSC Civil Services exam. Veer Pratap attended Arya Samaj School in Karaura for his primary education and Surajbhan Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Shikarpur for his secondary education starting in the sixth grade.
 
Veer Pratap had to walk five kilometres from his house to his elementary school. He used to travel 10 kilometres each day to study. When there was no bridge in the village, he used to cross the river to get where he was going. Veer Pratap graduated with a B.Tech in mechanical engineering from Aligarh Muslim University in 2015.

Raghav, who is trained as an engineer, scored second best in philosophy during the primary exam. He received 306 out of 500 points in philosophy. He chose philosophy as an elective for the IAS exam, according to Times Now.
 
Despite growing up in poverty as a young child, Veer Pratap Singh Raghav, a farmer's son, pursued his education and eventually became an IAS. Veer Pratap's elder brother also desired to be an IAS officer, but he chose to enlist in the CRPF because of financial difficulties.

 In 2016 and 2017, Veer Pratap attempted the exam, but he was not successful. Despite his obvious disappointment with the result, he remained composed. His unwavering perseverance finally paid off in 2019 as he achieved his goal.
