Dawood Ibrahim's latest ladylove Mehwish Hayat once criticized Priyanka Chopra's 'Jai Hind' tweet, all you need to know

Mehwish had written against Priyanka Chopra after an encounter between a Pakistani blogger and Priyanka. The blogger accused Priyanka of encouraging war despite being Goodwill brand ambassador of the UN. For the uninitiated, the debate began after Piggy Chops tweeted 'Jai Hind' after Balakot airstrike, which was India's retaliation to Pulwama attacks.

In an opinion piece for a portal, Hayat had written, "This is where Priyanka Chopra and others have made a mistake: by lending their name to racism dressed up as patriotism, they have done us all a disservice," further accusing Bollywood of 'fuelling hate an islamophobia'. She also accused Shah Rukh Khan of promoting an 'anti-Pakistan' project through his upcoming Netflix series Bard of Blood, which features Emraan Hashmi in the lead role.

Mehwish Hayat received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz honour in 2019. Wikipedia describes the same as, "Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, (English: Award of Excellence), is a state-organised honour of Pakistan. It is given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their achievements. While it is a civilian/Military award, it can be bestowed upon officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces and worn on their uniform. It can also be awarded to foreign citizens who have performed great service to Pakistan."

Mehwish Hayat is an actress and a singer in the Pakistani film industry. Her mother, Rukhsar Hayat, was a popular television actress in the 1980s. Meanwhile, her eldest brother Zeeshan is a singer-composer. Hayat's older sister Afsheen too is a singer. Mehwish has another older brother Danish Hayat, who is an actor. More so, Mehwish is the sister-in-law of Faiza Ashfaq, a model.

Mehwish Hayat got fame with her TV serial 'Meray Qatil Meray Dildar' in 2012. She, however, did not win any awards for her roles just yet.

Mehwat made her debut in the Television world with 'Man Jali', but won her first award with the 2014 show 'Kami Reh Gaee'. She was last seen as the lead in the 2019 show 'Enaaya'.

Whether special appearances in songs, short films or animated films, Mehwish has worked in the film industry for 11 years straight. Mehwish Hayat ventured into the music industry in 2011 with 'Tell Me Why'. Having collaborated with Coke Studio 9 (Pakistan) in the past, she was last seen in 'Chamkeeli'.
