Restaurateur Nicolo Morea, who came to India from Berlin, is all praise for Bandra and can't but shower his adulation on everything there

Bandra connection: I came down to India in 2003 from Berlin and I had a choice between Colaba and Bandra for opening my restaurant. Then I realised that Colaba had more lounges and restaurants as compared to Bandra which has only Olive as a restaurant-cum-lounge bar. And now I think my decision to stay here was definitely not a wrong one.

Bandra best: The best thing about Bandra is that it's very rich in art and culture. Everyone in Bandra is talented and doing something or the other to propagate art. Be it a musician or a painter, the place is constantly on the move. Also, the constructions in Bandra have a good mix of the earlier villas and the contemporary buildings. The enormous amounts of trees revitalise the place.

Bandra haunt: I love Olive, Seijo & the Soul Dish, as well as Shiv Sagar. The dosas in Shiv Sagar are very tasty. I also hang out a lot at Joggers Park. And how can I forget Carter Road and Bandstand! Taking a walk down the promenade is one of the best ways to spend your time in Bandra.

Bandra separator: What separates Bandra from the rest of the city is the variety of people living here. There are Indians that have varied cultures and also non-Indians who have interesting aspects about their culture to showcase. It's a very cosmopolitan mix and people here readily accept all different cultures and try to adapt to the good aspects of each culture.

Bandra festival: I'm involved with the food festival in the Bandra fest and I think it is an apt way to bring people together, inspiring them to interact with each other. There are no profits or losses involved in a festival like this. It is for sheer entertainment and learning of the people. And when there is no money involved, things become much more accessible and exciting.

One request I want to make is that the police and BMC should take larger interest in festivals like these and create a balanced organisation within the people so that things are smoothly conducted. I think more festivals like this will help inspire people to contribute towards their culture in their own small way.
