After a three-year gap, director K M Chaitanya returns to the silver screen with Parari and strikes gold. And if the screenplay and the script are any indication, the film has been made for the young, complete with double-entendre and hilarious situations.

The film follows the various situations the lead characters get in to — from romance that turns embarrassing, being stranded in a brothel to having to deal with a dead body, each and every sub-plot of the story gives the actors the opportunity to demonstrate their acting skills. Be it Shravanth as Karan who plays the character of Hanuman in a TV serial falling in love with Urmila, played by Shubha Poonja, who incidentally is the series’ Sita or Ananth (played by Shrunga) who’s labelled impotent because he didn’t try to get naughty with his girlfriend in a film theatre or Singa Reddy (Arun Kumar) who claims to be a Fun Coordinator and leading the two boys, Karan and Ananth, to a red light district — the stories are as funny as life can get.

What sets Parari apart is that it’s very different from formula Kannada films. While logic isn’t what drives the film, its script keeps the humour quotient high, right till the end. Could it be that situational comedies in Kannada films are finally maturing? Supported by Anoop Silen’s music and HC Venu’s cinematography, Parari is a must-watch and especially in the theatres.
