Star Wars social media account shoots down sexist comment like a boss

As fans gear up for release of the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens, they are equally excited about its new character called Captain Phasma. Star Wars has only revealed that Gwendoline Christie ,who is well known for her role as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones will be playing Phasma.​

Star Wars decided to to host a fan art contest, in anticipation of the new film.

But on Thursday, a sexist comment about one of the drawings gained a lot of attention. A fan named Seth Groves submitted his artwork of ​Captain Phasma​, which Star Wars posted on Facebook.

 Most of the responses from the Star Wars universe were positive.

One fan however, decided to focus on the Phasma's armour. According to Mashable, the critic wrote, “Not to be sexist, but’s really hard to tell that’s female armor for me.”

However the person handling the official Star Wars Facebook page, came up with a brilliant response. They wrote “It’s armor. On a woman. It doesn’t have to look feminine,” Mashable revealed. While the comment, which got a lot of attention has now been deleted, many believed it was the perfect response and thanked Star Wars for not dressing a woman in the typical female armour, seen in other films. And we must say it does make up for that slave Leia outfit.
