Time for a quantum leap: Sheldon Cooper to have sex with Amy on The Big Bang Theory

After five years of dating Amy Farrah Fowler, Sheldon Cooper is finally going to take the plunge and consummate their relationship. Shamy – as the couple are known – are going to have sex and lose their virginity.

The scene was apparently filmed recently in front of a live studio audience and executive producer Steve Molaro was quoted saying: “After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship," he said, adding: "We’re so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes.”

In the show, Amy and Sheldon are currently broken up so we don’t know exactly how they’ll get back together. The couple had broken up in series eight finale when Amy decided they were going to re-evaluate their relationship, not knowing that Sheldon was going to propose.
