Rajiv Gomes, the special public prosecutor in the Louis Berger bribery case, on Tuesday alleged that Sharon Alemao, the daughter of former Goa PWD minister Churchill Alemao, threatened him outside the court.

Alemao who has been charge-sheeted in the case is in judicial custody. He has filed a fresh bail application before the special anti-corruption court in Panaji.

Gomes, appointed as the special prosecutor in the case, said the incident took place after today's hearing.

"One lady who was sitting in the co-driver's seat (of an SUV) who I recognised as Sharon Alemao...pointed a finger at me and said: 'I will take care of this guy'," Gomes said in his complaint.

"It appears that the said statement was made to me in order to instill fear in me not to discharge my duty freely," Gomes said, adding, his assistants had witnessed the incident.

The Panaji police, however, are yet to register a case. Inspector Siddhanth Shirodkar said they were still examining the complaint. When contacted, Sharon Alemao said the accusation was false and intended to tarnish her image. She had no occasion to run into Gomes anytime during the day, she said.
