Transformers Prime for kids

Arch rivals Autobots and Decepticons will soon be back to take control of the earth  while iconic characters Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will try to do what they are best at — protecting the inhabitants, but this time on the small screen.

Discovery Kids is all set to air a series Transformers Prime based on the popular film franchise Transformers. Says Rajiv Bakshi, VP, Marketing, Discovery, “We were looking for something sharp, entertaining, different and at the same time it had to have a national appeal. With Transformers you don’t have to say more than once what it is about.” Along with the main characters that have gripped the imagination of its fans, the series will introduce new animated human characters.

The 52-episode series is slated to air from May 6 at 12 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm.

Says Bakshi, “For such a big series it’s important that we launch it at a time when it will be mass consumed. Summer vacation is the best time. Also, a survey among kids showed that unlike adults, they like to watch a show repeatedly and for more hours, which is why we will be airing it multiple times.” However, episodes will not necessarily be the same – “they could be different at different timings,”  he informs.
