Morne Morkel believes the current South African bowling attack will leave a 'mark' in the 2015 World Cup.
South Africa paceman Morne Morkel has admitted that they have laid down a 'marker' for the 2015 World Cup.
All eyes would be on South Africa's fearsome pace attack, as they take on the New Zealand batsmen at Seddon Park.
New Zealand may get some respite, as South Africa will be resting Dale Steyn in the third ODI, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Morkel said that it is very important to lay down a marker for the World Cup, adding that as a bowling unit South Africa have done really well, and it has helped them with their body language and confidence.
The paceman said that it's nice to hear other teams talk about their lineup, and added that there is responsibility and pressure with these sort of things.
Australia is marginally ahead of South Africa as pre-World Cup favourites, as the two sides meet in a five-match ODI series, Down Under in November.
South Africa, with their world-class batting and bowling lineups, hold the edge against Australia.
Morkel said that the Australia tour is 'very important' for South Africa, as they would get first hand knowledge of both weather and pitch, ahead of the World Cup.
With the towering paceman taking over leadership of the bowling attack in Steyn's likely absence, there would be no letting up for New Zealand, as backup quicks Wayne Parnell and Kyle Abbott look to get their first starts of the tour.
Morkel concluded by saying that the team was looking to give '100 percent', and added that losing was not an option for the side.
