Team India is set to continue their impressive performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 as they face off against England in the second semi-final on Thursday, June 27 at Providence Stadium in Guyana. This highly anticipated match will showcase two of the top white-ball teams in the world competing against each other.

However, there is a concern looming over the fixture as heavy rain is forecasted during the game. According to weather.com, there is a 60% chance of rain throughout the match day, with the likelihood increasing to 58% by 12 pm local time in Guyana. The game is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am local time (8:00 PM IST), but the potential for rain may result in interruptions to play.

Despite the weather conditions, both teams are gearing up for an intense battle on the field, aiming to secure a spot in the final of the T20 World Cup. Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting this clash of titans, hoping for an exciting and competitive match between Team India and England.

The weather forecast remains unfavorable until 3:00 PM local time, significantly reducing the likelihood of a full match taking place. In order to ensure the completion of the semi-finals, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has allocated an additional 250 minutes of playing time. This will provide the ground staff with ample time to prepare the pitch for the match, assuming the weather conditions improve.

Who will qualify for final if semi-final 2 gets washed out?

In the event of inclement weather causing the game to be cancelled, the team that finished higher in their Super 8 group will qualify for the final, as outlined in clause 16.10.7 of the ICC's playing conditions for the T20 World Cup 2024. Therefore, India is poised to advance to the final, having emerged as the top team in Super 8 Group 1 by winning all of their matches.

Conversely, England secured the second spot in the group with two wins out of three games. However, fans are eagerly anticipating a full 40-over game between these two powerhouse white-ball teams of contemporary cricket.
