It has been said, quite correctly, that "Only he loses who does not fight'" Preeti Beniwal has validated the veracity of this claim. Actually, some people have a lot of bad things happen to them in life, but they still manage to succeed because of their perseverance and hard work. The inspiring success story of IAS Preeti Beniwal is one such example.

Preeti, a resident of Dupedi, Haryana, attended a private school in Phafdaana village and completed her engineering degree. She received good grades in her tenth class. Her mother Babita worked in a nearby Anganwadi, and her father was employed at the Panipat Thermal Plant. She completed her studies in class 10 at Matalouda, class 12, and earned honours in both B.Tech and M.Tech at Israna College.

Preeti worked as a clerk at the Gramin Bank in Bahadurgarh from 2013 to 2016 after completing her education. She then served as the FCI's Assistant General II in Karnal from January 2016 to January 2021. She was assigned to the Ministry of External Affairs as an Assistant Section Officer later in January 2021.

Following this, Preeti was required to show up for the FCI departmental promotion exam in Ghaziabad in December 2016. Yet, Preeti was involved in a train mishap at the Ghaziabad train station. Abruptly she fell in front of the train, and the train went over her. Following this, she required 14 surgeries and spent over a year in bed.

Her fiancé and in-laws rejected her following the train accident, which led to the breakdown of her marriage. She was resolved to realise her childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer, though, and she persisted in trying to find a way out of this predicament. It was her decision to get ready for the UPSC exam. In 2020, she finally passed this exam with a 754th rank, following two failed attempts without coaching.
