On August 8, 1969, in Los Angeles, US, Hollywood actress Sharon Tate was celebrating her Golden Globe nomination with her family and friends. However, what transpired on that night not only shook Hollywood but the world. Sharon Tate and four other people who were partying at their home were brutally murdered. The murder was so ruthless and horrific that everyone who reached the crime scene was terrified. The floor of the party place was soaked in blood, and the bodies of the partygoers were scattered around.

26-year-old Sharon Tate was 8 months pregnant at the time. She was stabbed 16 times by the assailants and was then hanged alive.

For the unversed, Sharon Tate, one of Hollywood's most successful actresses, was part of films like 'Eye of the Evil', 'The Fearless Vampire Killers', and 'Valley of the Dolls'. She married actor and director Roman Polanski in 1968.

Sharon Tate was due to deliver her baby around August 12, 1969. A few days before that, she invited her friends over for lunch, where she revealed how she was upset by her husband's absence during her pregnancy. 

The same evening, on August 8, Sharon Tate was partying with her friends, but shortly after midnight, Sebring, Frykowski, Folger, and Tate and her unborn son were murdered by members of the Manson Family cult. 

Their bodies were discovered the next morning by Sharon Tate's housekeeper, Winifred Chapman. After the police arrived, the scene inside the house was no less than that of a horror film.

The coroner's report for Sharon Tate revealed that she had been stabbed 16 times and that "five of the wounds were in and of themselves fatal".

Horrifyingly, Sharon Tate was still alive when she was hanged with the rope, but she died immediately from a "massive hemorrhage". At the entrance of the house, next to the front door, the word "PIG" was written in blood, in Sharon Tate's blood.

In September 1969, members of the Manson "Family" were arrested for the murders. the Manson "Family" was led by Charles Manson, an American criminal, cult leader, and musician, who ran a cult based in California. 

Explaining the motive for the murders, they said that it was not about who the victims were but rather the house at that address. It had been previously rented to record producer Terry Melcher, an acquaintance of Manson.
