In an age where social media fame drives individuals to explore new and sometimes controversial avenues, people from all walks of life are increasingly creating reels to gain attention. Recently, a series of videos made in public places like airports and railway stations have drawn significant backlash from netizens. The latest to join this trend is a woman from Madhya Pradesh, who chose the Collectorate building in Gwalior as the backdrop for her dance video, sparking widespread criticism.

The video, shared on Instagram, features the woman in a black saree dancing to the popular song "Tip Tip Barsa Pani" from the film "Mohra," starring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. The setting of the Collectorate premises, instead of more traditional scenic spots like the Gwalior Fort, Baijtaal, or the Italian Garden, drew mockery and disapproval online.

Social media users were quick to voice their discontent, leading to formal complaints. Among the critics was social worker Akash Barua, who filed a written complaint with the Gwalior Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), demanding stringent action against the woman for what he described as inappropriate behavior.

Barua expressed concerns about the potential negative impact on the city's image and the message such actions send to the youth. “A large number of people visit historical places every day. If such videos are shot at these public spots, they can bring a bad name to the city,” he told the Free Press Journal.

This incident follows a similar controversy where a woman’s dance video at Mumbai airport ignited outrage, with many condemning the act as a public nuisance.

As social media continues to influence public behavior, the debate over appropriate conduct in public spaces grows, highlighting the fine line between creative expression and public decorum.
