In a shocking incident, a customer discovered a dead rat in the sambar they were served at the Devi Dosa restaurant in Nikol, Ahmedabad. Despite promptly alerting the restaurant staff, no action was taken. Frustrated by the lack of response, the customer reported the incident to the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Following the complaint, the Health Department issued a notice to the restaurant’s owner, Alpesh Kevadiya, citing serious health and hygiene violations, and subsequently sealed the establishment.

The Health Department’s notice revealed disturbing details about the restaurant's hygiene practices. The kitchen space was found to be open, allowing roadside animals to enter easily, posing a severe threat to food safety. Officials declared the food unsafe and sealed the premises. They also instructed the owner to rectify the hygiene issues immediately to avoid further actions and penalties. The authorities emphasized the importance of maintaining strict hygiene standards to ensure customer safety.

Bhavin Joshi, Food Safety Officer of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation, spoke to ANI, urging all business operators in Ahmedabad to be vigilant about the food they serve to prevent such incidents. The officer said, “I appeal to all the business operators of Ahmedabad Corporation to be very careful with the food they serve to the customers so that such incidents can be avoided.”

In a related and equally disturbing incident, a family discovered a dead mouse inside a sealed bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. The family shared their experience on Instagram, which quickly gained widespread attention. According to their post, three family members who consumed the syrup had to be rushed to the hospital.

The family’s suspicions were aroused when they noticed the chocolate syrup had an unusually thick consistency. After transferring the syrup into a disposable cup and inspecting it closely, they discovered a dead rat inside. Frustrated by the lack of immediate action, the family shared their distressing experience online. In response, Hershey’s urged the family to contact the company directly to resolve the issue promptly.
