As Rahul Dravid's journey in the Caribbean comes to a close, the former head coach now finds himself without a job. Dravid, who was once the captain of a team that faced an early exit from the 2007 ICC World Cup hosted by the West Indies, reflects on his time in the spotlight. Known as "The Wall," Dravid participated in three 50-over World Cups but never secured an ICC title during his playing career.

After seventeen years since the heartbreaking exit from the 2007 World Cup, Rahul Dravid has finally received recognition for his immense contributions to Indian cricket. Under Dravid's coaching, India triumphed over Aiden Markram's South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final-over match to secure their second T20 World Cup title. Following India's historic victory over the Proteas in Barbados, the departing head coach humorously remarked about his impending unemployment starting next week.

"I will be able to move on quickly from this win, next week I will be unemployed (laughs). I don't want to think too far ahead, but yes, I hope, I will be able to move on. I think that's what life is all about," Dravid told news agency PTI.

Rahul Dravid earlier announced that the T20 World Cup 2024 will be his final assignment as the head coach of Rohit's Team India. Dravid took over as India's head coach following the 2021 World Cup, succeeding Ravi Shastri. Under Dravid's guidance, Team India has reached three ICC finals in the span of 12 months, showcasing their exceptional performance. Additionally, India emerged victorious in the Asia Cup under Dravid's leadership last year.

During Dravid's coaching tenure, India suffered defeat in two ICC finals against Australia. In 2023, India achieved a flawless record, but Rohit Sharma and his team faced their first loss of the ICC event in the final against Australia. However, the following year, Team India made history by becoming the first team to win the men's T20 World Cup without a single loss throughout the tournament.
