Many people who are recognised as prodigies at an early age have often faced unexpected career turns and the story of Tathagat Avatar Tulsi is just about that. Born in September 1987 in Bihar, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi completed his schooling by the age of 9. At 11, he made history by earning a BSc degree from Patna Science College, followed by an MSc from the same college at 12 years of age.

Despite these remarkable achievements, Tulsi continued his academic journey and pursued a PhD at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore (IISc), completing it by the age of 21.

Owing to his impressive accomplishments and talent, Tulsi was offered a position as an Assistant Professor on contract at IIT Bombay. However, this opportunity turned into a challenging period when his employment took an unexpected turn in 2019.

Tulsi recounts that IIT Bombay terminated his services in 2019 after he took an extended leave due to illness. His struggles began in 2011 when he experienced a high fever, leading to a prolonged leave of absence. He returned to his hometown in 2013, and by 2019, IIT Bombay management had dismissed him from his position.

Currently, Tulsi is unemployed and has turned to studying law as he attempts to rebuild his life.

Once hailed as one of the most talented children in Asia, earning nicknames like "Superteen" by Science, "Physics Prodigy" by The TIMES, and "Master Mind" by The WEEK, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi is now facing the challenge of finding a new path forward.
