In a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight match against Australia in St. Lucia on Monday, India's captain Rohit Sharma made history by becoming the highest run-scorer for his country in Twenty20 Internationals.
Rohit achieved this remarkable feat by surpassing Virat Kohli's run-tally of 4,103 runs in the shortest format of the game. Kohli, unfortunately, departed for a five-ball duck during the match.
Not only did Rohit surpass Kohli's record, but he also broke the record for the highest score by an Indian captain in T20 World Cups by scoring 57 runs.
In addition to these achievements, Rohit also became the leading run-scorer in T20 Internationals by surpassing Babar Azam's 4,145 runs.
With 149 innings played in 157 matches in T20 Internationals, Rohit's highest score stands at an impressive 121 not out.
