There is no denying the fact that the IIT JEE entrance exam is one of the toughest exams not only in India but in the world too. Every year lakhs of students from different parts of India sit in the IIT JEE entrance exam to crack the exam and secure a seat in IIT. But only a few thousand of the brightest minds succeed in clearing the IIT JEE entrance exam. Today, we highlight the extraordinary journey of Sarvesh Mehtani, who topped JEE (Advanced) in 2017.

Sarvesh Mehtani, a student from Panchkula, Chandigarh, is presently employed as a quantitative trader. He placed first in the 2017 IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) exam. He completed a Computer Science and Engineering Graduate from IIT Bombay in 2021.

Sarvesh Mehtani's father Parvesh, an officer in the Income Tax department, said he aimed to break into the top 10 in the highly competitive examination. Playing badminton, watching TV cartoons, and listening to music were his favorite ways to unwind. Mehtani continued, saying that his objective had always been to finish in the top 10 of the incredibly difficult exam. Mother Raj Bala, who works for the Haryana government's industrial training department, said her son made sure to review his curriculum in class every day before bed and did not view his education as a burden.

Sarvesh achieved a flawless CGPA of 10 in Class 10 and 95.4 percent of the possible points in the Board Examinations for Class 12. Sarvesh Mehtani studied for as long as five to six hours on a regular day and eight to ten hours on a holiday to pass the 2017 JEE Advanced exam. With 339 out of 366 in JEE Advanced, he earned an AIR.

Sarvesh studied for a B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Bombay, one of the most prominent engineering schools in India, after receiving the highest score in the JEE exam. His academic career continued after that. As a result of his realisation of the value of lifelong learning and exposure to many cultures, Sarvesh is currently employed as a quantitative trader, creating high-frequency trading methods for financial derivatives.
