NEW DELHI: As 'The Return of Hanuman', the first animation sequel, hits theatres on Friday director Anurag Kashyap promises to bring a new phase of animated movies.

'The Return of Hanuman' is set in modern day India and this time Hanuman has returned to the earth in a new avatar 'Maruti', who is a school boy with a mission to save the world from the evil doers.

Hanuman being the original super hero of India, the movie promises an all out fun for the kids who loved the previous 'Hanuman'.

It is full with the funny antics of a kid which involves action, comedy and drama.

Having a reputation for making dark and serious cinema, Kashyap's tryst with his first light hearted children animation movie was not easy, says the director.

"For me it was a great learning experience, I made so many mistakes while working on the movie but fortunately had the chance to correct them," Anurag Kashyap said.

The movie has inspired the director and has opened a all new field of creativity, "Hanuman was a wonderful and enriching experience. I am planning to make another animation movie which will be entertaining for both children and adults," says Kashyap.

The director, who has also written the dialogues of the movie said "my inspiration behind writing and directing the movie was my daughter Aliya. The movie is dedicated to her."

"My daughter says my films only have policemen but no songs, dance or masti. She inspired me in many ways, she was in my mind while working on the script and making the movie."

The director hopes that 'The Return of Hanuman' will be the biggest blockbuster.

Hanuman, the earlier animated version of the film, was a great hit across the country. It broke many records although only 100 prints were released. While children doted on the movie, young ones also joined their children in enjoying the antics of little Hanuman.

"Hanuman was largest selling home video movie. It was a huge success for us. This time we are planning to release it with over 400 prints in India," General Manager (marketing) of Percept Picture Company, the producer of the film, Nadish Bhatia said.

The company has plans to target the overseas market and specially the countries with good NRI population. It has plans to release the movie in different languages to reach out to non-Indian audiences as well.

"We are planning to release it a little later in overseas market, specially in the UK and the US, which have a good number Indian population. The movie will also be dubbed in French and English because the potential of this character is universal and it has the capability of cutting across the cultures," said Bhatia.
