Balvant Parekh, through sheer determination, changed the fate of his life and his upcoming generations. Once a peon, Parekh revolutionised product development, packaging, marketing, and finance without any prior experience, outshining many experts. While he once struggled to earn a few hundred rupees a month, today, his product earns around Rs 29 crore daily.

He is the founder of Pidilite, the company behind the popular product Fevicol. Every success has a story of struggle, and Parekh’s journey was no different. 

In his initial days of working, he noticed that carpenters used glue made from animal fat to bond furniture. This glue was not only smelly but also complex to make. This observation sparked an idea in Parekh's mind. His net worth is approximately Rs 90,000 crore, according to News18.

Despite working as a peon to support his family, Parekh held a law degree. He developed a formula for bonding furniture, which resulted in Fevicol, a glue ten times stronger than animal fat-based glue and without any foul odour.

Parekh first introduced his product directly to carpenters. After gaining popularity, he founded a company named Dychem in 1959, which was later renamed Pidilite. This company now produces adhesives for paper, furniture, tiles, and waterproof roofs. Super Glue Fevikwik is also a Pidilite product.

Parekh had a keen market sense. Hence, he marketed directly to carpenters, holding meetings and travelling with them to understand their needs better. This continuous interaction helped him stay ahead of market problems and innovate products accordingly.
