Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad is expected to have moderate rainfall today (July 5), according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The week’s weather outlook suggests that the showers will come with mostly cloudy skies and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30-40 km/h.

Moreover, the NCR is also experiencing fluctuating weather patterns. Authorities have advised to stay safe amidst thunderstorms by staying inside their homes and securing any loose objects that may be swept off by strong winds.

While the recent rains have brought some respite from the intense heatwave, the increased humidity levels are now a new challenge for residents.

Authorities have warned that the rise in humidity could disrupt daily activities and affect the usual traffic flow. They recommend everyone to be prepared for these potential changes.

However, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi stood at 78 as of 9 AM on Thursday, classified as “satisfactory” by the Central Pollution Control Board.

The AQI scale ranges from 0-50 for “good” air quality, 51-100 for “satisfactory,” 101-200 for “moderate,” 201-300 for “poor,” 301-400 for “very poor,” and 401-500 for “severe.”
