Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani will get married on July 12. Leading up to the big day, the couple hosted two grand pre-wedding events – one in Jamnagar that was attended by numerous celebrities, and another where they embarked on a European cruise with family and friends. On Wednesday, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani hosted a Mameru ceremony for Radhika Merchant.

What is Mameru?

In Gujarati culture, the Mameru ceremony involves the bride’s maternal uncle presenting her with wedding gifts. "Mameru" refers to the maternal uncle in Gujarati. This ritual is a significant part of the pre-wedding celebrations, where the bride-to-be receives gifts from her uncle.

The Mameru ceremony was a lavish affair for the Ambani family. Radhika Merchant arrived in a stunning orange and pink lehenga adorned with golden embellishments. The entire Ambani family gathered to bless the couple.

Isha Ambani, Mukesh Ambani’s daughter and Anant's sister, attended the event with her husband Anand Piramal and their children. Isha looked elegant in an orange silk ruffled saree with intricate golden zari and thread work. The family posed for photographs, looking splendid in traditional attire.

Shloka Ambani, the Ambani family’s eldest daughter-in-law, wore a pink and orange salwar suit with heavy golden embellishments. She accessorized with a diamond necklace and drop earrings, completing her look.
