Anil Kapoor has shared his reaction to the sequel to his iconic film, Nayak, and also revealed if he would be interested in leading Nayak 2.
Anil Kapoor has reacted to the sequel of his iconic movie Nayak 2, exclusively with DNA India. Nayak (2001) is among the popular films of the 2000s that may have underperformed at the box office, but it gained cult status on television. Shankar-directed political drama was the official Hindi remake of the director's Tamil blockbuster Mudhalvan (1999). It starred Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever and Amrish Puri.
Last year, producer Deepak Mukut said in an interview that he has bought the rights from Nayak producer, AR Ratnam, and his team is working on Nayak 2. Anil Kapoor, who's now hosting the latest season of Bigg Boss OTT 2, shares his thoughts about Nayak 2. When asked if he's interested in doing Nayak 2, Anil instantly adds, "I am geared up for everything. Agar koi aacha script le ke, story, screenplay le ke aayega, toh main kyu nahin karunga. Main 100% karunga (If someone will come up with a good script, story, screenplay, I will do it.)." So, it's clear that Anil Kapoor is ready to lead Nayak 2 as well.
In 2023, we witnessed how the audience reacted to Sunny Deol's Gadar 2. Moviegoers love watching their actors in their favourite characters. Does Anil Kapoor agree with it, "Of course, people love watching their favourite characters. Aur isse bhi zyada favourite characters aane wale hai. Yeh yaad rakhna (Mark my words, the audience will have new favourite characters)"
Anil Kapoor reveals if he was upset with Boney Kapoor
In the same conversation, Anil was asked if he was upset with his brother, producer Boney Kapoor for replacing him in No Entry 2. At first, Anil says, "Ghar ki baat hai, ghar mein rehne do. Usse kya discuss karna (It's a personal matter, why should we discuss it)." Then, Anil was informed that Boney's statement had been reported widely. Anil adds, "Ha toh koi nahi. Aage badho (It's okay. We should move on)." Does Anil agrees that the matter has been blown out of proportion? The Welcome actor replies, "Dekho ghar ki baat ko kya discuss karna (Look, what is there to discuss about the family matters). And, he (Boney) is never wrong."
On the work front, Anil's film, Woh 7 Din, which marked the actor's first lead role, completed 41 years. The Bapu-directed was released on June 23, 1983. Currently, Anil is busy with Bigg Boss OTT 3, which is streaming on JioCinema Premium. Anil is also preparing for the film Subedar.
