Producer Ramesh Taurani comments on problematic star's fees, entourage cost: Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir do...'

Producer Ramesh Taurani shared his thoughts on the rise of star's fees, entourage cost, and why a film fails at the box office. Earlier this year, several celebrities, including Anurag Kashyap, Shabana Azmi, Farah Khan, and Karan Johar have voiced their opinion about how the actor's entourage or their fee affect the movie. In an interview with the Indian Express, the Race producer said that he believes in the films they don't fail, their budgets do. The Legend of Bhagat Singh producer asserted that filmmaking is a business. When he's mounting a film and signing a star, he has to look at the talent's fee, and his entourage cost. Ramesh revealed thst he proceed by 'factoring everything', and if he feel the fees is too high, he negotiate with them. If Taurani feel the amount agreed is feasible, that the project is viable, only then will he make it. Speaking more about the entourage cost, Ramesh lauded the three Khans- Shah Rukh, Aamir, and Salman for signing a film on profit-sharing. The Soldier producer said, "So, entourage cost is there, but a bigger problem is the star fee. It’s true that they ask for a high fee but a lot of stars today are mindful of the recoveries and the business, and they come in backend, and they agree for profit sharing. Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan do that. We made Race 3 with Salman, and everything was on a partnership basis. All big stars do this today." Ramesh further revealed that if the entourage cost increases, it gets deducted from their share.
