Sharib Hashmi will soon be seen in the crime thriller series, 36 Days. Ahead of the grand release, Sharib joins DNA India for an exclusive chat, discussing his characters, love for the whodunit genre, and lots more.

The series, 36 Days, is a mystery thriller where every character has layers and a haunting past. It's a perfect whodunit series, something that Sharib was waiting to do. "Yeh zone jo hai na, suspense-thriller ka, mujhe bachpan se pasand hai (Since my childhood, I loved the genre of suspense-thriller), and I wanted to do something in it,"

Sharib, who plays the owner of the casino, is paired opposite with Amruta Khanvilkar. Sharib adds that his real and real-life wife is pole apart, "The real-life and real-life wife is opposite. I am the over-the-top person in the duo, and she (Nasreen Hashmi) is much more calm and composed. Main masti, maskari karti rehta hoon, parties mein halla machata hoon (I keep joking around, keeping the parties alive). Toh it's a role reversal for me (laughs)."

The Family Man actor adds. Sharib further reveals that though he craves good whodunit films, he has not watched Bobby Deol's Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997). "Main aaj tak nahi dekhi kyuki mere ek friend ne mujhe bata diya tha ki 'Kajol main villain hai' (I haven't seen it yet because one of my friends told me that 'Kajol is a villain'). He spoilt the suspense for me," he says.
