India and the USA face off for the first time in T20I cricket history at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Both teams have secured two victories in as many matches, putting them in a position to advance to the Super 8 round.
India successfully defended 119 runs against their rivals Pakistan and easily defeated Ireland in their previous matches. Their bowling attack is in top form, showcasing their dominance on the field. While batting has proven to be challenging in New York, the team's management is optimistic for a stronger performance from their batters in this upcoming match.
On the other hand, the USA team is determined to cause an upset at the T20 World Cup. To defeat India, they must excel in every aspect of the game for the full 40 overs. With a lineup of talented players, the team will rely on Corey Anderson to step up and deliver, as he has yet to make a significant impact in the tournament thus far.
SKY scores fifty runs in just 49 balls, showcasing a remarkable innings. Dube's impressive drive results in a double, successfully completing the chase with seven wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare.
USA 110/8 (20)
IND 111/3 (18.2)
The on-field umpires have imposed a five-run penalty on the USA team for violating the 60-second change-in-over rule three times. Consequently, India now requires 30 runs off 30 balls to win the match. Dube expertly guides a length ball to deep mid-wicket, securing a double off the first delivery. The following five deliveries yield four singles, leaving India with a target of 24 runs to score at a run-a-ball rate.
Corey Anderson bowls to Dube, resulting in an edge to third man for a single run. Sky then drives through mid off, but a spectacular diving save limits the shot to just two runs. He follows up with a clip to deep mid wicket, adding another run to the total.
Siraj will be bowling the final over. He started with an off cutter, resulting in a dot ball. Shadley then hit a length ball towards midwicket for a boundary on the second delivery. The third ball was a slower bouncer, resulting in another dot ball. A bouncer was delivered next, which was pulled by the batsman for a single.
Aaron Jones was caught out by Siraj, another top-edge resulting in the ball going straight down Siraj's throat at long leg. India continues to dominate the game. Hardik executed the play nicely by not giving Jones any room to pull the shot. Jones was cramped on the shot, lacking control and unable to keep the ball down.
Jones elegantly executes a cover drive for a couple of runs. However, Siraj responds with two full-pitched deliveries that outsmart the USA skipper. Jones smashes a six, marking the first boundary for the USA team. With a swivel pull, Jones sends the ball soaring over long leg for a maximum
Taylor elegantly drives the ball down the ground, securing a single to open his account. Jones, on the other hand, takes just one ball to get off the mark with a single on the third delivery. Siraj's first over yields only four runs.
