South Africa's captain, Aiden Markram, has shared his thoughts on the looming threat posed by Virat Kohli in the highly anticipated final match against the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024. Despite Kohli's struggles to score throughout the tournament, Markram emphasized the need for caution when facing the former Indian skipper.

Markram has led the South African team to their first-ever final match in World Cups, both in ODIs and T20Is. The Proteas are gearing up to take on Rohit Sharma's team at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, June 29. This presents Markram with a golden opportunity to lead his team to their first World Cup trophy victory.

Both India and South Africa have maintained a flawless record in the ongoing World Cup, reaching the final without a single loss. The Men in Blue are determined to secure their first ICC trophy since 2013. While the Indian team made it to the final match in last year's ODI World Cup, they faced defeat against Australia in the summit clash in Ahmedabad.

During a press conference leading up to the final match, Aiden Markram recognized Virat Kohli's reputation as a skilled player in high-stakes games. Markram conveyed his confidence in their game plan against Kohli for the upcoming match.

"It's come to the big final, and we all know what a player he has been. So any bit of plan and are you worried about the fact that he has not scored runs in the tournament? I mean, I don't think it worries me," Markram stated, addressing the media.

Virat has only managed to score 75 runs in seven matches during the ongoing T20 World Cup, with an average of 10.71 and a strike rate of 100. Despite his usual style, the 35-year-old batter displayed a more aggressive approach from the start of the tournament. The Indian team is counting on Virat to come through in the final match.

Aiden Markram recognized the formidable strength of India's entire batting lineup. The South African captain emphasized the importance of his team's strategic planning and preparation in order to effectively counter India's batting prowess. Markram expressed optimism that their meticulous planning would yield positive results in the upcoming final match.

"He's a great player as we all know, but they've got their whole batting unit full of great players. Cricket is a game of ups and downs. You're not always going to do well, especially as a batter. We just do our planning, do our preparation from a meeting's point of view for planning towards those batters. Hopefully, on the day we can get that right," Markram added.
