Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has petitioned the Supreme Court against the stay that the Delhi High Court placed on his bail. The lawyers representing Arvind Kejriwal have requested a hearing on Monday morning, according to the Aam Aadmi Party. In a Delhi court earlier, the chief minister was granted bail in the purported excise policy issue. However, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a plea opposing his bail, and the high court halted the bail until it made a decision.

The high court vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain had said, "Till pronouncement, the operation of the impugned order shall remain stayed." Additional solicitor general SV Raju, speaking on behalf of the ED, referred to the trial court's decision to give Kejriwal bail as "lopsided" and "one-sided" during Friday's high court hearing. Raju said,"Matter has been decided without considering the documents. Without considering the documents, how can you come to the finding that they are relevant or irrelevant," as repported by Hindustan Times.

The ED detained the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor on March 21 after he disregarded nine summonses related to the money laundering investigation into the Delhi excise policy case, which has since been dropped.
