After a succesful debut in Sri Lanka, Ravinder Jadeja is eager to carry the good form into the Twenty20 matches against New Zealand and impress the selectors before they pick the Indian team for the T20 World Cup this year.

The Saurashtra all-rounder wants to cement his place in the T20 team so that he can figure in India's defence of the World Cup, to be held in England in June.

"I want to fully utilise this chance. Definitely I want to be a part of Twenty20 World Cup team and this is the chance to prove my mettle. I am confident to perform as per team's need," Jadeja said from Rajkot.

Jadeja was included in the T20 squad for the New Zealand tour after his stupendous show on the domestic circuit.

The Saurashtra player, who bowls spin, knows that conditions may not be favourable in New Zealand but exuded confidence of doing well.

"I know it is tough to beat them in their backyard where they have tailor made pitches. I will see the wicket and adjust my bowling accordingly. The emphasise will be on variation."

"Their wickets are fast bowlers' paradise hence spinners like me have to work hard. And for batting my focus will be to bat on the backfoot. I have got important tips from seniors like Yuvraj Singh and I am practising to negotiate bouncers as it is expected from the Kiwi bowlers in T20 cricket," Jadeja said.

Jadeja was the leading wicket-taker with Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni in the last Ranji season. He took 42 wickets in nine matches apart from scoring 739 runs, including two centuries.

He said his performance in the Ranji season and Indian Premier League has given him the confidence to play at the international level as well.

"IPL was very important stem in shaping my career. I got the chance to play along with international players for the first time and I gained a lot of confidence after that. It has been reflected in Ranji season."

Like every cricketer, Jadeja also dreams of playing Test cricket but admits that he is not yet prepared and has to develop the required temparament.

"Every player wants to play Test cricket. I will work hard to get that temparament to play five days matches. My Ranji stint will be helpful for sure."

"But that is going to take some time. At the moment my focus is on NZ tour and to get a permanent place in T20 and ODI team," he said.
