In the modern business, Britannia Biscuit is well-known, and nearly every family—young or old—has probably tried it. However, are you aware of the circumstances behind the founding of this globally renowned corporation (Britannia Industries History)? Thus, allow us to inform you that its history predates India's independence and that it has travelled to 60 nations worldwide, beginning with a modest store in Kolkata. But now that the business has made the decision to shut down its division, it is making headlines.

Not only is Britannia's product line popular domestically, but internationally as well. The firm is a worldwide food products corporation based in India, with a history that predates the nation's independence. Actually, if we discuss the origins of Britannia, company was founded in 1892 with an initial investment of merely Rs 295, based on historical accounts. However, British businesspeople founded this corporation. The Wadia family currently plays a significant role in the company. In the beginning, the business made biscuits in a tiny home.

After a number of years in this fashion, the company doubled biscuit output in 1910 with the aid of electric machinery. In 1921, however, due to rising demand and revenue, it began importing industrial gas ovens. The Wadia family never turned around after that and established a sizable plant in Mumbai in 1924. Following this, Britain became much more popular. Then, during World War II, the company's biscuits became extremely popular. A large order for cookies to be supplied to the soldiers of India and the Allies was received during the war.

The firm grew and began introducing additional types of biscuits; Britannia Cake and Bourbon were debuted in 1963 and 1955, respectively. Following this, the business changed its name from Britannia Biscuit Company Limited to Britannia Industries Limited on October 3, 1979. Its operations are currently dispersed over more than 60 nations. What makes this firm unique is that, despite expanding into other product categories like dairy, 80 percent of its income still originates from biscuit sales.

Britannia Industries Limited's market capitalization is now valued at Rs 1.29 lakh crore. Chairman Nusli Wadia is the one in charge of it. The firm announced the closing of this famous Bistic facility in Taratala, Kolkata, on Monday, the last trade day. This was a significant development for the company. Nonetheless, the announcement had less of an effect on the company's shares on Tuesday; as of 1.30 pm, when this article was written, Britannia Share was up 1% at Rs 5,370.
