Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review meeting regarding the COVID-19 vaccination drive in India with top officials from across the states and districts of the country on November 3. During this meeting, he raised key pointers on the ongoing immunization drive in the country.

During the meeting, PM Modi said that it is time to reach every house for the COVID-19 vaccination drive, and the doses should now be taken door-to-door. He further reiterated the importance of focusing on the second dose of the vaccine.

PM Modi said, “Till now all of you have made arrangements for taking people to the vaccination centers. Now vaccines should be taken to every door, there should be door-to-door vaccine... with this passion you have to reach every house.”

The virtual meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi was attended by magistrates of more than 40 districts from states Jharkhand, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, and others. The chief ministers of these states were also present for the meeting.

The prime minister said, “Under the free vaccine campaign, we have administered about 2.5 crore vaccine doses in a day. It shows our capacity.” He further added, “Now the motto is 'Every home vaccine, door-to-door vaccine'. We have to reach every house with this spirit.”

While promoting the districts to pick up the COVID-19 vaccination pace, PM Modi said, “You've major challenge of 'rumour' and 'misconception among people'. A big solution is to make them aware. You can take the help of local religious leaders, make their short videos and circulate it.”

The central government launched the Har Ghar Dastak vaccination campaign to boost the COVID-19 vaccination pace across over 40 districts. The campaign will focus on door-to-door vaccination and the administering of the second dose, to reduce the risk of a third wave.
