After winning over hearts and palates abroad and in India, in Hyderabad, international coffee chain, PappaRoti is all set to open its first outlet in Mumbai. What you can look forward to is freshly baked coffee coated buns, topped with a variety of toppings like the classic nutella, served piping hot with a cup of coffee or special teas. We caught up with Nitin Jethwani (of NK Hospitality Private Limited) who along with Kunal Jethwani and Suraj Bahirwani is part of the trio behind this new venture.

Tell us more about the brand.

PappaRoti first brought its unique snack to Malaysia in 2003 after which Rasha Al Danhani introduced it in Dubai in 2008. The coffee coated baked buns were accompanied with beverages. With over more than 400 outlets around the globe, it recently opened its doors in Hyderabad, in March 2017 serving more than 500 buns a day.

What can patrons in the city expect?

The buns are being imported directly from Malaysia, and will be freshly baked to perfection with the right temperature make it unique and consistent in taste and flavour. With in-house delicacies like Shakshuka and Pappa’s signature tea, PappaRoti Mumbai will be one-of-its kind.

What’s on offer?

The menu will have our signature coffee coated buns, and will be a mix of Italian and Continental fare. Choose from a range of toppings for the buns like Classic Nutella, Nutella and hazelnut, Nutella and almond, Lotus biscuit, Strawberry, Honey and Toffee, salads, sandwiches, pastas and pizzas. Pair that with a fresh blend of coffees — cappuccinos, flavoured lattes, especially one made with saffron and Pappa’s signature tea that include flavours like Moroccan Nights, Emirates Spice, Jasmine Pearl, Zaatar Digest, Rose and more.

Any dishes that are popular abroad that will also make it to the menu here?

PappaRoti’s signature buns with a choice of various toppings like hazelnut, Nutella, cheese and dates to name a few. Not to miss the cheese and mashed potatoes Shakshuka and to add Quinoa salad with a variety of Focaccia.

Why did you’ll decide to bring this brand to Mumbai?

After its first successful opening in Dubai, it was observed that the second highest customers were Indians, and Indians seem to connect with the brand, especially kids. A lot of Indians from Dubai carry the freshly baked buns to India, and that was another incentive start the chain locally.
