Not a popular figure in Florida, Sunil Gavaskar, India's former captain, was denied entry in the cricket stadium where India is playing West Indies in the T20I on Sunday.

Despite being one of the commentators along with the official broadcasters, the security alert at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill failed to recognise the 'original cricket master', according to a report by India Today. They did not hence let him enter.

Tweets of this cricket fan confirmed the report, who said, "Standing outside gate being denied entry again as India team is here. I feel better today though because they're denying Sunny Gavaskar too."

Despite Gavaskar's angry minder telling the security that he needed to be inside the stadium, Gavaskar looked calm and even obliged to click selfies with fans waiting outside the stadium.

This news comes after the whole Shah Rukh Khan fiasco of being detained at the US airport again. Gavaskar, who was not allowed to enter the stadium, is known for his consistent run-scoring in Test cricket.

India were 15 without loss, chasing 144 to win, when rain disrupted play in the second and final Twenty20 cricket international, in Florida on Thursday.
