Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's inter-faith wedding drew criticism online and protests in Patna by Hindu Shiv Bhawani Sena, who were seen holding the hoardings calling the couple's wedding 'love-jihad'. Now Shatrughan Sinha has broken his silence on the same.

On Tuesday, in a conversation with Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha reacted to the protests in his hometown Patna against his daughter Sonakshi Sinha's wedding with Zaheer Iqbal and said, "Anand Bakshi Saab has written about such professional protesters Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. To this, I would like to add, Kehna wale agar bekaar bina kaam-kaaj ke hon toh kehn hi kaam ban jata hai. My daughter has done nothing illegal or unconstitutional. A marriage is a very personal decision between two people. No one has the right to interfere or comment. To all the protestors I say, 'Go get a life. Do something useful with your life.' Bas, aur kuch nahin kehna."

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the presence of their family and friends in a registered marriage. While Shatrughan Sinha and his wife were seen standing beside their daughter, blessing the couple, the actress' brothers Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha were missing from her big day. When asked about the same, Luv Sinha said, "Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking."

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha's last film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan flopped miserably at the box office however, she garnered immense praise for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series, Heeramandi. Now, the actress is gearing up for the release of her next horror-comedy Kakuda helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The film also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem and is scheduled to release on ZEE5 on July 12.
