Veteran actress Jaya Prada hopes to redefine Indian TV's 'saas' with debut show 'Perfect Pati'

Veteran Indian film actress and politician Jaya Prada is all set to begin a new chapter in her professional career. She will soon make her television soap debut with 'Perfect Pati', where she will play the role of a progressive mother-in-law.

"It will redefine the way a mother-in-law is usually portrayed on Indian television. She (Jaya Prada's character Rajyashree Rathod) is a confident and dynamic woman who will be seen juggling various responsibilities - be it her family business, social work or running a household. She shows her mettle when faced with the difficult decision of choosing between right and wrong," the actress told IANS.

"I'm glad that I was offered such a progressive character in 'Perfect Pati' with which I begin a new chapter in my professional life," she added.

Set against the backdrop of Rajasthan, 'Perfect Pati' will tell the story of two contrasting individuals - Vidhita (Sayali Sanjeev) and Pushkar (Ayush Anand). Jaya Prada will play Pushkar's mother in the show, that will begin on September 3.
