In a historic turn of events, jubilant scenes erupted at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingston on Saturday night as Afghanistan shocked Australia to secure their first-ever victory in international cricket against the former World Cup champions in their T20 World Cup Super 8s showdown.
In pursuit of a modest 149-run target, the Aussies crumbled under pressure and were dismissed for 127, handing Afghanistan a remarkable 21-run triumph.
The Afghans were propelled to victory by stellar performances from openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (60) and Ibrahim Zadran (51), as well as a dominant bowling display led by Gulbadin Naib (4/20) and Naveen-ul-Haq (3/20).
The celebrations extended well into the early hours of the morning, with fans and players alike reveling in the euphoria of the moment.
Notably, the Afghan players were spotted singing and dancing to DJ Bravo's hit song "Champion" on their team bus en route to their hotel. Bravo, who serves as the team's bowling coach, joined in the festivities at the back of the bus, adding to the infectious energy of the night.

"It's massive win for us as a team and as a nation. Great feeling. It's something we missed in last two years. Really happy with the win and super proud of the guys," Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan said at the post-match presentation.
"It's so important for us back home and around the world. I'm sure they're proud and would've enjoyed the game," he added.
Australia is currently facing the possibility of early elimination from the T20 World Cup. The reigning champions must secure a victory in their upcoming match against India on Monday and rely on Afghanistan to lose to Bangladesh in their next Super 8 match in order to advance. The pressure is on as Australia fights to keep their tournament hopes alive.
