The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of CSIR UGC NET exam 2024. The exam was scheduled to be held between June 25 to 27. NTA said the exam is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues. The revised schedule for the conduct of this examination will be announced later through the official website.

Candidates are advised to keep visiting the official website csirnet.nta.ac.in. for the latest updates, NTA said in a statement. This comes just a day after the Centre cancelled the UGC NET exam which was conducted by NTA on June 18. Besides, students and Opposition are also protesting against alleged NEET paper leak.

Moreover, the Supreme Court on Friday refused to defer the NEET-UG counselling process, scheduled to kick off on July 6, saying it is not an "open and shut" exercise, even as the political pot kept boiling over the controversy-ridden exam with the opposition attacking the Centre over alleged paper leak and other irregularities.

NTA, under fire over the lapses in the conduct of NEET and UGC-NET, is gearing up to conduct on Sunday a retest for the medical entrance exam for 1,563 candidates who were earlier awarded grace marks to make up for the loss of time at six centres.
