Pavithra Gowda used cosmetics during her detention in the Renukaswamy murder case.
The Bengaluru police issued a notice to a woman police sub-inspector after actor Pavithra Gowda, partner of accused Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, was seen wearing makeup while in police custody.
Pavithra, who is a prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case was taken to her Bengaluru residence for recording details of the crime scene. During her visit, she was seen wearing makeup and smiling while returning from her residence.
A notice has been issued to the woman police sub-inspector for the negligence. S Girish, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said Pavithra likely kept her makeup kit at the detention centre. "The woman PSI used to go there every morning, pick her up, and get her to the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station. The woman PSI should have noticed this and prevented her from doing so. For this negligence, she has been given a notice for explanation," Girish said to Deccan Herald. Police typically do not allow suspects to carry personal belongings during custodial interrogation.
Pavitha, 33, was arrested along with her friend and Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeepa and 15 others for the murder of Chitradurga resident Renukaswamy earlier this month. She was the only woman arrested and was held at a separate detention centre for women. A woman police sub-inspector was deputed to bring her daily to the Annapoorneshwari police station for questioning.
According to the police officials, it was Pavithra Gowda who had instigated Darshan to punish Renuka after he had made derogatory comments against her on social media. Though Darshan hasn't divorced his wife Vijaylakshmi, he has been living together with Pavithra for past many years. Some portals have claimed Pavithra to be his 'second wife', however, the two of them haven't married each other yet.
