In a shocking video widely shared on social media, two men from Nagla Tursi in the Jasrana tehsil region misbehaved with a Tehsildar and the revenue team who had gone to intervene in a land dispute. One of the men involved in the incident slapped and struck down the Tehsildar, causing him to fall to the ground, during the intervention.

In today's DNA, Anant Tyagi analyses the truth behind the 'slap incident' in Uttar Pradesh.

Both of the individuals misbehaving with the Tehsildar in the video are reportedly local farmers who were involved in land dispute. Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad have arrested two men in connection with an incident of a farmer slapping a tehsildar in Nagla Tursi village in Jasrana tehsil of Firozabad district.

The two accused are identified as Dharmendra and Veereshwar.

While some criticised the arrest and supported the farmer, arguing that he was only 'retaliating,' the majority of people supported the farmer and noted that the SDM officer had attempted to slap him first.

Tehsildar Lalta Prasad has reportedly filed an official complaint, according to a report in Navabharat Times. Anjish Kumar Singh, the in-charge of the police station, said that the two people had been accused of disrupting the peace.

According to media sources, the SDM had arrived to mediate a land dispute issue between the two parties in Nagla Tursi village. The two men continued to bicker and then got into a scuffle in spite of the Tehsildar and the revenue team's attempts to diffuse the situation and stop it from getting physical.

Fortunately, when the crew tackled the situation, the attack at the tehsildar was caught on camera during the entire exchange. To make sure the right legal action is taken against the criminals, the police are conducting additional investigations.

In response to the event, the Firozabad Police stated that the two accused have been placed in judicial custody and that a case has been filed at the Jasrana police station under the applicable provisions.
