Gautam Adani is currently the second richest man in India with a massive net worth of Rs 714314 crore, as per Forbes. He is the chairperson of Adani Group, one of India’s biggest conglomerates that is involved in a wide range of business. Despite being the leader of such a massive company, Gautam Adani draws less salary when compared to industry peers and even his own key executives. As per a report by the Economic Times, Gautam Adani earned a total of Rs 9.26 crore as salary in the fiscal year that ended on March 31.

The report further reveals that the business tycoon only gets salary from only two out of ten companies under the Adani Group. The billionaire took Rs 2.19 crore salary from Adani Enterprises and he drew Rs 6.8 crore from Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd. Gautam Adani's salary is comparatively lower than chiefs of almost every family-owned conglomerate in India.

For context, India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani has been foregoing his entire salary since the COVID-19 pandemic. With a net worth of Rs 954787 crore, Mukesh Ambani is the chairman of India’s most valuable company Reliance Industries that has a market cap of Rs 1967000 crore. Before the pandemic, he had capped his remuneration at Rs 15 crore.
