Shalini holds hands with Ajith Kumar in their latest photo from hospital, worried fans say 'get well soon'

Shalini Ajith often shares pictures with her husband and superstar Ajith Kumar on her Instagram. On Wednesday, the former actress dropped a photo with Ajith from the hospital in which she was dressed in a hospital gown. The couple were seen holding hands with each other in the photo, which went viral on social media within minutes.

Reacting to Shalini's latest photo, fans expressed their concern in the comments section. One of them wrote, "Get well soon Mrs. Ajith Kumar", while another added, "Get well soon ma’am. Lots of prayers from fans and well wishers". "Evergreen couples of Kollywood", read another comment.

While Shalini himself didn't reveal why she is admitted to the hospital, a source told IndiaToday.in that the Alai Payuthey actress underwent a minor surgery in Chennai. The source added that Ajith returned to Chennai from Azerbaijan where he was shooting for his upcoming film Vidaamuyarchi to take her of his wife. The source also quoted, "It's too personal, so let's not get into the details. But, she underwent surgery and is doing fine now. There's a possibility that an official statement might be shared in a day or two."

Shalini extensively worked as a child artiste in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films in the 1980s. She took a break from acting and returned to the south Indian films as the lead actress in 1997, before quitting acting after her wedding with Ajith Kumar in 2000. The couple have two children, a daughter named Anoushka and a son named Aadvik.
