It is often said that parents can never hate their children no matter how they look, behave, or appear. Children are always loved unconditionally by their parents. However, veteran actor Nana Patekar, who has appeared in superhit films like 'Krantiveer', 'Welcome', and 'Tirangaa', recently made a shocking revelation saying how he 'hated' his own son.

Nana Patekar, who rarely talks about his personal life, recently revealed some bitter truths including the fact that he was addicted to smoking cigarettes.

In an interview with The Lallantop, Nana Patekar revealed that his eldest son battled health complications from birth. He said, "He had trouble in one eye, it wasn’t visible. I felt so disgusted that when I saw him, I thought about what people would think, what kind of son Nana has. I didn’t think about what he felt or how he felt. I only thought about what people would think about my son."

Nana Patekar revealed that he went into shock when his son died. He was so addicted to smoking and used to smoke 60 cigarettes a day and also shared how he quit smoking. "At that time, I used to smoke about 60 cigarettes a day. I even smoked while bathing. But it’s a very bad thing. No one would sit in my car because of the foul smell. I never drank alcohol much but I smoked a lot," he said.

Nana Patekar revealed that he finally quit smoking because of his sister. "It was because of my sister that I quit smoking. She lost her only son. Then my sister saw me coughing after smoking. She said, ‘What else do you want to see?'

Nana Patekar was so hurt by his sister's comments that he quit smoking the same day. He also revealed how he met his wife and they named their son Durvasa. "His name was Durvasa. He spent two and a half years with us. But what can you do, some things happen in life,” he said.

On the work front, last year, Nana Patekar was part of Vivek Agnihotri’s 'The Vaccine War'.
