Anurag Kashyap has opened up about his rift with Abhay Deol, and also why he never told his side of the reported conflict. For the unversed, Abhay led Anurag's Dev D, and since then they have never collaborated. In one of the interviews, Abhay also called Anurag 'toxic'.

Recently, while Anurag was promoting his upcoming series Bad Cop, the filmmaker-actor spoke about their differences. In an interview with Janice Sequeira, the Gangs Of Wasseypur director asserted, "The truth can't be spoken, because if I will speak the truth, he (Abhay) won't be able to show his face. There is too much truth in there that Abhay will also not have the courage to talk about. And I will not talk about it because it will make him look like s**t.”

Anurag further added that he has not spoken to Abhay ever since Dev D, and reacted to the actor calling him 'toxic'. "Abhay, I have not met him since the shooting of Dev D. He didn't even come for promotions and he has never spoken to me since. If he wants to call me toxic, it's his side of the story," The Gulaal director said.

Speaking about being labelled as 'problematic' and 'toxic', the Black Friday director asserted, "I can't always make people happy. I avoid working with people who I think are problematic, and the ones who think I am problematic are the ones with whom I have never worked. That's why they categorise me as a problematic person."

Anurag and Abhay's Dev D was a modern-day adaptation of Devdas. The film was a commercial success, and the film's music was a rage in 2009. On the work front, Anurag will soon be seen playing antagonist in the crime thriller web series Bad Cop. Abhay, on the other hand, was last seen in Jungle Cry.
