Rohit Sharma fell short by 22 runs of achieving the remarkable milestone of 10,000 career runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs) when he was dismissed by Shadab Khan on Sunday. If he manages to reach this feat today, Rohit would become the second fastest player to achieve this milestone. Today, he will be playing his 241st innings, while his teammate Virat Kohli, undoubtedly, achieved the remarkable feat of 10,000 ODI runs in just 205 innings. Rohit would surpass the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (259 innings), Sourav Ganguly (263), Ricky Ponting (266), Jacques Kallis (272), MS Dhoni (273), and Brian Lara (278) in this remarkable journey.
Today, the Indian captain has the potential to surpass several remarkable records, commencing with Shahid Afridi's record for the highest number of sixes in the illustrious history of the Asia Cup. Afridi had impressively struck 26 maximums, a feat that Rohit Sharma matched during his exceptional innings against Pakistan on Sunday. Furthermore, Rohit is merely 10 sixes away from equaling Chris Gayle's extraordinary record for the most sixes by a player in the extensive annals of international cricket.
UPDATE - Shreyas Iyer is feeling better but is yet to fully recover from back spasm. He has been adviced rest by the BCCI Medical Team and has not travelled with the team to the stadium today for India's Super 4 match against Sri Lanka.#AsiaCup2023 pic.twitter.com/q6yyRbVchj

India has participated in cricket matches on both Sunday and Monday. If they engage in a full match today, Tuesday will mark their third consecutive day of cricket. However, it is important to note that their bowlers were only actively involved in the game yesterday. This is because their batters were on the field for the first day of their match against Pakistan, and they also played a significant portion of the reserve day.
Sri Lanka is currently on a remarkable streak of 13 consecutive One Day International (ODI) wins. This achievement places them second in the history of ODI cricket, trailing only Australia's dominant record of 21 consecutive wins between January and May 2003. Notably, Australia's winning streak encompassed the entire 2003 World Cup tournament, which they ultimately emerged victorious from.
